Research direction
Start by reproducing the crash in LMMS 1.3.0-alpha.1.929+d4cabd5 on Windows with the linked pc98_ym2608.sf2, using a Soundfont Player. Compare the MinGW and MSVC builds and gather crash details; done means the soundfont loads without crashing in the MinGW build as it does in MSVC.
