Description
Debian has broken installation of VST plug-ins since version 1.2.1+dfsg1-1 for non-i386 architectures, including amd64. Debian has been warned in its [bug report 998387](https://bugs.debian.org/998387) and my feedback has been ignored. Ubuntu inherits this bug.

Research direction
Start with Debian bug report 998387 and the Debian packaging for LMMS 1.2.1+dfsg1-1. Reproduce installation on Debian or Ubuntu amd64 and compare it with i386, focusing on VST plug-ins. Done means the package installs VST support correctly on non-i386 architectures or the external packaging issue is clearly resolved.
