If the settings above are in effect, LMMS eats more than half of the CPU, although the CPU meter bar under the scope stays at zero.
This problem exists in 1.3 alpha and 1.2.2 as well.

Research direction

The report concerns ALSA with the null device and reproduces in LMMS 1.3 alpha and 1.2.2. Start by reproducing the reported settings and tracing the ALSA/null-device audio path; done means CPU usage no longer spikes while the scope meter remains at zero.
