Description
I have noticed that in lmms you can open several windows of different editors and instruments simultaneously, however I can not open several windows of the same editor, for example, open several piano roll windows.

When I work on a large project, I constantly change editors' windows, it has to be minimized and maximized many times and this becomes cumbersome. Using the google browser, I saw how easy it is to change tabs, so I thought that this feature can be added to lmms. something similar this:

Between the main interface and the maximized piano roll editor, you can see a tab bar, with several piano roll windows and automation editor, access to those windows would be much faster and should not be minimized to access the other windows . As for the small instrument windows. If you are inside a piano roll tab, I propose that by right clicking on that tab, automatically open its respective instrument, in this way we avoid minimizing or going to the song editor to open the instrument. I do not know what you think of this idea, for me it seems useful. currently the buttons of the editors in the main interface do not fulfill this function. but this if it would be a useful for the stable version 1.2.0 or in future versions. regards

Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by tracing how LMMS opens and switches editor and instrument windows; done would require an agreed tabbed-navigation design supporting multiple piano-roll windows and the proposed instrument access.
