Description

So, I know Team have a very limited amout of resources and this will sound like complaining. So:

1. connection of external controller to track is, well, awful. gear icon > midi > input > select your controller. Very, very unintuitive and unfriendly for user, especially new ones.

2. why in linux are shows all unnecesary controllers like: system timer?

3. I have a small issue, I try to exlain this step by step. You need external controller:
- any knob
- connect to controller, connect and record
- save project
- open and check in this particular "any knob" what you have in "edit connections",
- you should have when you press this little keyboard icon selected only your external controller which you used to record automation
- if you have in this section everything selected, well, that's problem

Research direction

Reproduce the external-controller workflow in LMMS: connect a MIDI controller, record automation, save the project, reopen it, and inspect the knob's Edit connections through the gear > MIDI > Input path. Compare the available Linux MIDI inputs and the controller selection after reopening; done means the workflow is clearer and only the used external controller remains selected.
