Description
I can plug my MIDI controller in and set up the instruments, and controls with the LMMS interface, but when I unplug the controller and plug it back in, all the settings are locked up, and the MIDI controller needs to be reprogrammed before I can use it again.
Equipment and versions of programs used:
Acer Aspire laptop
Ubuntu 17.14
Ubuntu Studio 16.04
LMMS 1.2.0
LMMS 1.1.3
MIDI settings in tab set to ALSA
AKAI MPK 249 Controller
Novation Launchkey MK2 Controller
I have also encountered other musicians with the same issue but I'm unaware of what equipment they are using.
I've bee discussing this issue in the LMMS forums as well:

Research direction
No source file or test is identified. Start by reproducing the controller disconnect and reconnect behavior with LMMS 1.2.0 or 1.1.3 on Ubuntu using ALSA and one of the listed MIDI controllers; done means MIDI settings remain available after reconnecting without reprogramming.
