Description
After compiling the latest stable (as of now it is 1.2.0-rc3.31) there is no audio playback while using ALSA but audio plays back fine after switching to Jack in the audio interface setting, restarting lmms and starting a Jack server in that order.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the initial setup on Fedora 26 with ALSA selected, following the issue's sequence of switching to JACK, restarting LMMS, and starting a JACK server. Trace the audio-device initialization path and verify that ALSA playback works immediately after setup without requiring JACK.
