Is there a way to implement a .sfz file plugin?

So far, to load `.sfz` files you have to download a vst and use the vst to load the `.sfz` file. Is there any way that somebody could make an lmms plugin for these files?

Then determine the scope required for native .sfz loading; done would mean a documented implementation path or a working LMMS plugin that loads .sfz files without an external VST.
