Description
Hello Everyone,
I just had a couple minor observations / questions I noticed when dragging items into the SONG EDITOR.
1.) First one, I would imagine it is on purpose but a little inconsistant.
This one is true to both the SONG EDITOR and the B+B EDITOR
Say you have an instrument track in the Song Editor, if you want to replace it you can drag a different instrument on top of it and it will allow you to replace it.
On the other hand if you have an audio sample track in a AUDIO FILE PROCESSOR and you try to drag a new sample into it to replace it, it does not take its place it adds it to the bottom of the track list.
Not sure if this is intentional maybe because audio files get added more.
2.) If you insert a B+B EDITOR into the SONG EDITOR, it may be nice to be able to drag and drop Instruments or Audio Samples into that B+B EDITOR track in the the SONG EDITOR and have it appear within that specific B+B EDITORs list.
Again probably not needed and I am sure there are way more important things to work on but just a thought.
Sorry to kind of take over the forum for a little while, but I have been a little under the weather and have had a little time to share some minor things. This will probably be my last post for a while.
Thank You to the creators of LMMS, hopefully something I have shared in my posts will be helpful in the future.

Research direction
Start by examining the SONG EDITOR, B+B EDITOR, and AUDIO FILE PROCESSOR drag-and-drop behavior described in the issue. Identify the relevant editor entry points and existing tests, if any. Done would require an agreed behavior for replacing audio samples and placing instruments or samples inside a B+B EDITOR track, followed by verified implementation.
