Description
I dont know if this is even possible, but perhaps if lmms got friendly with Audacity..
What i am thinking is:
Is it possible to have Audacity running as a 'slave' of lmms UI.
The functionality would be that lmms and Audacity should 'communicate' on/ off/ record UI signals. It should iow be possible to run lmms and Audacity in synch.
If it was implemented, quite a lot of issues with soundfiles, usage would be gone with one whiff of that wand

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. First investigate whether LMMS and Audacity expose interfaces for exchanging on/off and record signals, then define how synchronized control would work; done would require an agreed communication approach and verified synchronization between both applications.
