A New Midi keyboard track

The New track Type is a midi keyboard track. Is for plugins like ZynAddSubFx / Linux sampler that use midi channels for sounds now you can use all 16 midi channels in one ZynAddSubFx and or the Linux sampler plugins without needing to clone the track. With this track a user can all so send midi from another jack supported software to LMMS. A user can all so use it with hardware with it's own sounds in it. When a user has hardware with it's own sounds in it are connected you can use multi audio output from a single plugin to feed multiple sample tracks #2071 using The the keymap is basses on the MIDI mapping using custom key ranges tab #1381 ie the key range the user sets are the only keys to send sound to sample track to spilt the sounds from the hardware to feed multiple sample tracks and Basic support for MIDI input note range limiting #2185 may all so help here once midi input is added. A user can use this track in Song Editor and the B&B Editor. Users can use this track inside of #1381, #1743, #735.

All connections are made in the All-in-one routing window #1986. When acidized samples support #2154 is added the midi keyboard track should be able to trigger the audio slices of the sample track with the midi keyboard keys.

Start by reviewing the referenced issues #2071, #1381, #2185, #1986, #2154, #1743, and #735, then inspect how tracks are represented in the Song Editor and B&B Editor. The proposed MIDI keyboard track would need to support the described MIDI channels, routing through the All-in-one routing window, GUI, and hardware or plugin use cases.
