Description
In Piano Roll and Automation Editor you can just hold down the right mouse button and drag over the notes or points you would like to delete. In Song Editor you have to press on top of each Track Container box / pattern.
Proposal: When the delete key combination is held down, hovering over the TCO box / pattern in the Song Editor will delete it.
With the undo working in the Song Editor for patterns/clips/TCO boxes accidentally deleting too many or wrong patterns isn't so much of a problem.

Research direction
Compare the existing deletion behavior in the Piano Roll and Automation Editor, then inspect the Song Editor's handling of track-container boxes or patterns. Done means holding the delete key combination while hovering over Song Editor items removes them as proposed, with undo available for accidental deletions.
