Description
I have been using the Edirol Orchestral VST recently, and decided to try a rendition of Danse Macabre with it. I loaded the MIDI into LMMS, loaded up the VST in VeSTige, and found that LMMS will only use the first MIDI channel and nothing else.
I do not have the memory (4GB) to load the VST 16 times, and LMMS usually freezes after trying to import the sixth VST. I would like for it to be possible to assign a voice to a channel of another instrument in LMMS (even though I know most synths do not support multiple MIDI channels), so I could load the VST once and have the other 15 instruments as alternate channels of the first one.
Thanks in advance,
Matthew

Research direction
No source file, test, or entry point is identified in the issue. Start by locating LMMS's MIDI channel routing and VeSTige instrument handling, then determine the scope of assigning multiple MIDI channels to one instrument and define completion as using those channels without loading multiple VST instances.
