Research direction
Start by reproducing the reported JSONPath environment-variable workflow in Insomnia 2023.5.8: define a variable from a response, close the window, and reopen it. Done means the definition persists and the variable remains usable; no source files or tests are identified in the issue, so locating the relevant environment-variable persistence code and adding regression coverage will require investigation.
