Avoiding redirect after signup without using template

Right now I don't seem to be able to avoid a redirect to the convert kit post signup page unless I use one of the templates such as 'clare' -- is there anything that I'm missing, or if not, could you consider this a feature request?

Start by reproducing signup with the “clare” template and without a template, then inspect the library’s signup and redirect behavior. The issue is complete when users can avoid the ConvertKit post-signup redirect without selecting a template, with the expected behavior verified.
