Description
In pull request #879 there is a currently-ongoing discussion about the modification and removal of some recently-added tests from drawElements' test suite.
Some of the changes that were made in that pull request should be revisited. The modifications that were made seem to have minimized the utility of the tests.

Research direction
Start with pull request #879 and its discussion about the recently added dEQP shader tests. Identify which illegal constructs and test modifications are disputed, then trace the affected tests in drawElements' test suite. The work is done when the intended test coverage is agreed and the affected tests no longer rely on inappropriate constructs.
