Cleanup of pages that link to subsections

To look at as part of the final work, something odd is happening with reference pages that just list sub-pages. For example, I only expect `item`, `h_item`, `nd_item` in the following, and not the "Member functions" links.


A similar thing is happening in range, for example:


Inspect the reference pages for item and range, focusing on the generated lists shown in the issue images. Determine why subsection links such as "Member functions" appear alongside the expected entries; done means these pages list only their intended items and no subsection links.
