Outdated versions used

This example project doesn't work out of the box. It uses rather old versions of build tools and the Android SDK. Please update to at least 25.
Also the gradle build version is outdated, use at least `2.3.3`.

It would be nice if you could check all the dependencies again and update the project, so that we have a proper example which can be used

Start by inspecting the example project's Gradle build configuration and Android SDK settings, then inventory the declared build tools and dependencies. Update the versions to meet the requested minimums and verify that the example project builds and works out of the box.
