Description

i think it's more natural for Julia user to anticipate vector instead of 1×n matrix, when loading matlab row/column vectors, and have a scalar value instead of 1×1 matrix.

maybe the MAT package should have options to do these convert?

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points; start by locating the MAT package's MATLAB array loading and conversion code. Clarify whether 1×n, n×1, and 1×1 values should always convert or be controlled by options, then define tests for the selected behavior.
