Description

Although R is cursed to support only 32-bit integers, it would be convenient to have an option in RData.jl to convert all such integers to the native integer type (Int), which these days is usually 64 bits.

Research direction

The issue identifies RData.jl's handling of R 32-bit integers as the entry point, but names no file or test. Locate the reader's option and integer-conversion paths first; done means an opt-in conversion from R integers to Julia Int while preserving existing behavior.
