Description

Some seismic applications make use of partial sums involving a signal and the DFT matrix with variable summation limits. One approach decomposes the partial DFT hierarchically into rectangular subblocks that are related to fast convolution. This might require a HierarchicalDFTMatrix

Research direction

No source file, test, or entry point is named. Start by surveying the package's existing DFT transform implementations and tests, then determine whether a HierarchicalDFTMatrix can represent the proposed variable-limit partial sums and how its correctness and performance should be validated.
