Consider moving away from yarn v1

Recently I've seen a couple of mentions that yarn v1 is quite problematic with package resolutions and some packages are considering dropping support for it: https://x.com/izs/status/1744742506410217933?s=46&t=bnOgSGA4M87MrBi8Z4lm6g

At some point we should consider migrating to new yarn releases or potentially pnpm or regular npm. Not sure but I wouldn't expect this to be a huge effort. Also probably not a big priority but putting it on the radar
