Work out if I'm overengineering this entire thing and if there is a simpler install path with basic bash scripting and heavier Ansible use.

I've encountered a thought that is telling me that I'm perhaps overengineering the overall setup of this repository/host, and the simple script I started off with has maybe become a monstrosity, taking a few steps back and working out if this is still the best way to build this thing is probably a good idea.
