Screen lights up, while dimming screen saver

#### Description of issue / Feature request

With dimming enabled, the screen savers in between flashes bright and then continues dimming again. It does this multiple times.

Start by reviewing the attached AerialLog.txt and reproducing the issue on a 2018 MacBook Pro running Ventura with dimming enabled. Use the Advanced tab's Debug mode and Log to disk options while testing; done means the screen saver dims without repeatedly flashing bright.
