Description

Bug

The custom-aria live example in the documentation, when read with a screen reader, reads the custom message, then "1 of 11" -- if options are customized to be hidden, this is confusing for users. aria-onFocus should be overridable, not just prepend-able.

Research direction

Start with the custom-aria live example in the documentation and trace how ariaLiveMessages reaches aria-onFocus. Verify the behavior with customized hidden options and a screen reader: the custom message should replace the default positional text rather than prepend it.
