Description

I don't need to fork this project, because said bug is reproducible on your website.
https://react-select.com/advanced

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the page
  2. Clear the "Custom filterOption with createFilter"-input
  3. Click and select a new input
  4. Clear the input again
  5. Notice how the carat is gone but the field is still focused.

Reproducible in Chrome and Vivaldi.
