Description
The manual for the G2SA makes no mention of shims, but my LDO kit came with two shims. If I install one of the shims onto the carrier shaft when assembling, as in the regular G2 manual, I lose all the front-to-back play in the shaft. When I install the drive gear seated fully to the rear as instructed, it is slightly to the rear of the filament path. If I leave the shim out, I have enough play to slide the shaft slightly forward so the drive gear aligns with the filament path after installing the gear in the rearward position. Am I supposed to leave the shim out on the G2SA? What's the second shim for? Does it make sense to place a shim directly behind the drive gear so it aligns with the filament path?

Research direction
Compare the G2SA manual's assembly instructions with the regular G2 manual and the shim and gear positions shown in the issue images. Document the intended use of both shims and the correct drive-gear alignment so the assembly procedure resolves these questions.
