Description
From the Python 3.6 release notes:
A backslash-character pair that is not a valid escape sequence now generates a DeprecationWarning. Although this will eventually become a SyntaxError, that will not be for several Python releases.

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating where IronPython parses or compiles string literals and handles invalid escape sequences, then compare its behavior with the Python 3.6 release-note requirement. Done means invalid escape sequences emit DeprecationWarning without changing valid escape handling.
