Material Icons instead of Font-awesome

If i remember correctly, there was a PR to add material style icons. Is this implemented? How can i use material icons, instead of font-awesome?

Start by locating the editor's icon and toolbar configuration and checking how Font Awesome is currently referenced. Determine whether Material Icons support already exists and how users are expected to select an icon set. Done means either confirming the existing usage path or defining the remaining implementation and documenting it.
