Definition of Corner and Edge Constraints.

I’m a bit confused about the constraint example shown in Figure 5. In the figure, Partitions 1 and 7 are associated with the corner constraint, while Partition 4 is associated with the edge constraint. However, visually it seems that Partitions 1, 4, and 7 are all aligned with the outline edges and corners.

Could you please clarify the exact definitions of the corner constraint and the edge constraint in this context?
