Description
I've had to reset my watch about once a day for the last week or so (usually to fix random Bluetooth connectivity issues). When this happens, my daily step count is reset. It would be really nice if it were possible to persist the step count across resets.

Research direction
Start by tracing where the daily step count is maintained and where watch resets are handled. Determine how step data can survive a reset within the firmware's existing storage approach. Done means the daily count is retained across resets without breaking normal counting or reset behavior.
