x86 vs x86_64 powershell confuses the installer

Description
Accidently using a x86 (32bit) Powershell causes a lot of weird problems and artifacts in the installation.
I would assume, that the number of 32 bit windows machines is relatively small and maybe the framework should just reject working there.
