Pydev: fix autocomplete loop issue

This follows on from #7898

As a pydev user I would like to fix the issue linked above (more info there) which autocompletes a function(this is unavoidable without dynamic analysis) but also runs it continuously.

### Acceptance criteria
- [ ] Fix is created, then submitted upstream
- [ ] after reviewer/maintainer is happy we merge in upstream to our fork and do the [pydev steps of a dependency update](https://github.com/ISISComputingGroup/ibex_developers_manual/wiki/Dependency-Updates#pydev)
