Lakeshore 336: Set sensors remotely

As an IS on IRIS running a calorimetry experiment I would like to be able to change the sensor being used on my lakeshore 336. The sensor is set in the device itself and can be done manually on the front panel. There is a command for changing the sensor name remotely but more investigation is required as to whether this works.
