Description
Guidance text for zip previewer feature for collections using Direct upload
For collections using "Direct" upload to support larger zip file uploads with the expectation of using the "ZIP PREVIEWER" feature, guidance text explaining how compressed files are handled should be included when the "file upload" option is selected.
The guidance text should clearly explain:
-
The zip file type supported with the file previewer: single ".zip," ".7z???" confirmed No for tar files. Making it clear double zipped files will not be previewed.
-
Any size limitation on the previewer tool - if none, make it clear in guidance or not?
What kind of user is the feature intended for?
API User, Curator, Depositor, Superuser, Sysadmin
What inspired the request?
Spending hours trying to figure out why the preview tool wasn't working as expected

Research direction
Start at the file upload option for collections using Direct upload and trace the ZIP PREVIEWER guidance entry point. Confirm the supported archive types, nested-archive behavior, and any preview size limit before changing the text. Done means users can understand which uploads will be previewed and why.
