Description
Overview of the Feature Request
The current institutional login page defaults to drop-down option "Please Select" which for a dynamically-populated list makes sense. Institutions with only one IDP also default to "Please Select" even though there's only one option besides "Please Select."
What kind of user is the feature intended for?
End user.
What inspired the request?
Repeatedly having to select the one IDP in my drop-down.
What existing behavior do you want changed?
An option to specify an IDP as default, either by URL or some other attribute.
Any brand new behavior do you want to add to Dataverse?
See above.
Any related open or closed issues to this feature request?
Possibly #7435 if you wanted to group work on a common topic.

Research direction
Start by locating the institutional login flow and the code that renders the Shibboleth IDP drop-down, searching for the "Please Select" label and existing IDP configuration. Review related issue #7435 for context. Done means an institution can configure a default IDP, while the current behavior remains available for dynamically populated lists.
