Description
Overview of the Feature Request
Support OpenDAP access to data files.
What kind of user is the feature intended for?
Useful for end-users, guests, and API users.
What inspired the request?
Currently our Dataverse seems to act like a library or catalog for data. The point of data is to access and use it, not just catalog it. The recent feature adding HTML-style raw index folder views is a great step in this direction. Support for serving files via OpenDAP would also be beneficial.

Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are named. Begin by locating Dataverse’s existing file-serving and API entry points, then clarify the OpenDAP protocol and access requirements for end-users, guests, and API users. Done should mean that data files can be accessed through OpenDAP with agreed behavior and coverage.
