Description
It has been brought to our attention that it would be nice to have an option to copy metadata from a previous dataset to enable metadata reuse and exchange for new datasets that are similar. We are aware of the templates we can setup, but a copy feature would be helpful for those that do not want to or have not already setup a template.
Has there been any consideration or need for this? An 'import or copy from XX dataset' maybe using the doi? It's interesting. We use this kind of 'import from DDI' option in our Nesstar repository quite a bit, especially when you have annual data releases, or a large series to catalogue. I'm not sure how this could work in Dataverse.

Research direction
No file, test, or entry point is identified in the issue. Start by clarifying whether the feature should copy metadata by DOI or support DDI/import and how it relates to templates; done means an agreed workflow and implementation for reusing metadata on a new dataset.
