Description

I just noticed the following desired characteristics in the COAR Community Framework for Good Practices in Repositories (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.4110829); cf.:

5.3 The repository supports external annotation, commenting or reviewing of resources and metadata.

I guess the Guestbook feature already supports some of these desirables. Would it be useful to support more general external feedback, annotation, commenting or reviewing of datasets and files in Dataverse? If so, could this be done with a (tighter) integration of tools like hypothes.is (https://web.hypothes.is/)?

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by reviewing the COAR requirement, the Dataverse Guestbook feature, and hypothes.is integration options; done would require an agreed scope and acceptance criteria for external feedback before implementation.
