Description

Many settings on a collection level are auto inherited by child collections, with the ability to be overridden.

However we recently had a discussion where we may not want a setting to be inherited, in this case the Data Curation Labels. E.g. if we were to set it at root, we may not want all collections to automatically inherit this.

So we should discuss and design how this could work, and also see if this should be someome generalize for other inheritable features.

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by reviewing how collection-level settings and Data Curation Labels are inherited, then compare other inheritable features to determine whether a general mechanism is appropriate. Done means an agreed design for opting out of inheritance, including its scope and behavior.
