Description

Overview of the Feature Request

When a new user creates a Dataverse account, they receive a welcome message telling them to contact an incorrect e-mail address (#11626) and also receive a link to the guides proper. Our customer engagement person would like to be able to customize this message, or alternately disable it entirely.

What kind of user is the feature intended for?

Sysadmin

What inspired the request?

New users get a welcome message containing a bad e-mail address (in our case, a do-not-reply) and a one-link-fits-all guide location.

What existing behavior do you want changed?

We would like to be able to customize the content of welcome e-mails sent to new users.

Any brand new behavior do you want to add to Dataverse?

^^

Research direction

Start by tracing the existing welcome e-mail flow for newly created Dataverse accounts and review related issue #11626. Determine how administrators could configure the message or disable it, then verify that new users receive the intended customized message or no welcome e-mail.
