Description
Data Documentation Initiative (DDI) is the international metadata standard for social science, DDI offers also a set of controlled vocabularies. The social science metadata block of Dataverse uses the DDI metadata fields, also the export and import utilities. But the controlled vocabularies are not in use, DDI CV are offered in the machine-readable format SKOS https://vocabularies.cessda.eu/?f=agency:DDI%20Alliance and Skosmos https://vocabularies.cessda.eu/v2/api-docs. So, it would be a good idea to integrate the DDI CV as external vocabulary service in Dataverse.

Research direction
No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by reviewing the social science metadata block and the export and import utilities, then examine the DDI Alliance SKOS and Skosmos references. Done should mean that Dataverse integrates the DDI controlled vocabularies as an external vocabulary service.
