Proposal for documentation of design patterns

We are trying to push for better documentation for everything. The general feel I get is that we could converge towards mkdocs with a nice readthedocs template, which means managing the documentation in essentially in markdown and presenting with github pages. For the design patterns, it would be good to have a nice autogenerated section with an overview of all patterns, and a separate page for every individual pattern to click on.
