Description

Section Number

  • SDPi in general, especially 1:13.4.1 SDPi-xC Overview - Concepts
  • Link to related 11073 SDC standards, including 11073-107xx

Priority

  • High: Important issue where there is major issue to be resolved. Requires discussion and debate.

Issue

In discussing device-external control concepts and approaches, there is confusion regarding the interpretation of the language used. For example, does "external control" = "remote control"? What about "active" vs. "passive" controls? "External" vs. "Internal" control functions? "Closed-loop"? or "Human-in-the-loop" (HITL) or similar control system? Etc. If there are standardized terms used in other industry standards (e.g., IEEE 11073, ISO, IEC, AAMI, etc., they should be referenced and utilized.

Proposed Change

Add a section to 1:13.4.1 SDPi-xC Overview - Concepts that establishes the architectural concepts utilized in the SDPi specification along with appropriate definitions and references.
