Why `POSTGRE_...` environment variables instead of `POSTGRES_...`?

This caused me to go down a very long rabbithole trying to debug DB connection issues before realizing that this was the issue. `POSTGRES_...` seems more standard, just curious why it's set this way and if you'd be open to changing it to additionally support standard environment variable names.
