Sorting by Identity in Accounts sorts by Id

The little titles that let you sort by Id or Identity at the top of the Account list both sort by Id.

Sorting by Identity needs to sort by Identity.

Start at the Account list and inspect the Id and Identity sort controls and their sorting handlers. Reproduce the current behavior, then verify that Identity sorting orders by Identity while Id sorting remains by Id.
