How do we remember?

Al information so far basically has stimuli move through a network, and if it was a fixed network that results in something once properly stimulated, it would be done.

However we "learn" from the stimuli, which suggests a few possible mechanisms.

In computer tech early days memory was retained by simply feeding it endlessly through a loop to basically retain state or potential, then a trigger gate would open and if there was potential it would pass, basically accomplishing a read.

For small scale it is easy to imagine a fixed set of these readers, but how did they get created in the first place?
At scale this would imply all answers are ready to be read if you ask query correctly? Is this the case?

So starting with a pixel of colour determined to be red. How is it retained after the initial stimulus.
