Description
Disabling the draw distance is a good feature in theory, but it should have some changes or limitations, because it has a big flaw as early as bob omb battlefield, because the chain chomp constantly sees you and barks at you throughout the entire level.
I don't know whether the chain chomp was already programmed to be active even when it isn't rendered, but even if that's the case, it could at least disable the barking when outside the original range.
It's not the only sound in the game that's made constant with that feature on.
Bob-omb battlefield also has the cannon that constantly shoots a water bubble.
Whomp's fortress has the whomps stomping and the rotating wooden platform.
Jolly roger bay: goombas jumping and turning around in the cave.
Cool cool mountain: snowmen jumping
I'm not far enough in the game to try the rest of the levels, but they probably all have some sound that now plays through the whole level.
Some of these sounds might be arguably okay, like the cannon in bob-omb battlefield and the whomps in whomp's fortress, but in general they disrupt the experience.

Research direction
Reproduce the issue with draw distance disabled in Bob-omb Battlefield and the other listed levels, observing the chain chomp, cannon, whomps, platforms, goombas, and snowmen. Start by locating the draw-distance behavior and the affected actors or sounds. Done means distant activity no longer produces disruptive repeated sounds while the intended draw-distance feature still works.
