Description

Currently, in Korman/Blender, it is possible when viewing an object or material that is referenced by other objects, to see a total count of the objects referencing that object.

However, this is all that Blender allows me to see regarding how many objects are calling upon this object- clicking on this number makes that current item a single user of that material/object/sound. I cannot easily find a way to view what objects are using this material, or referencing this object.

For example in Descent, a Vis Region heavy area...

Finding what objects may be referencing a Vis-Region I wish to remove or consolidate to another vis region is something of a tedious, needle in a haystack task, and in cases where I may be creating cross-page references by accident, it's very hard to nail down what objects may be causing me trouble.

Would it be possible to have a way to view all the objects that call upon a specific object like this?

Research direction

No source file, test, or entry point is named. Start by investigating how Korman/Blender tracks references to objects, materials, sounds, and Vis-Regions, then determine whether a view of all referencing objects is feasible. Done means providing a practical way to identify those references without accidentally changing user data.
