getting date and time in front of prompt

The issue is I want to have a date and time in front of my username@host . The current prompt looks like -

'shirish@debian:~$`

while this is good, I need something like -

'shirish@debian: Dec 14 19 02:10:55 ~$'

Can something like this be done without resorting to make it either a bash, dash or zsh shell or not. If yes, then how ?
